Flash Flood

News Broadcast says" Warning for Flash Floods in Uintah Basin" Some times they are right. We have had some problems with our basement flooding in the past, we live in a newer subdivision so we were one of the first on this side of the street to build and when our neighbors started to build they built higher than we did so we get all the excess water run off into our yard. So knowing we have had problems Bryan, Madi and I went to the basement during our monsoon rain storm to check our window well and made sure it was not filling up with water. Bryan opened the window to check it all out and saw nothing, we thought we were free and clear with no flood problems this storm. We then went back upstais to finish eating our dinner and within 3 to 4 minute time frame we hear this huge crash and run down stairs to see what is going on and our back yard had filled up with water along with the window well and broke out our basement window so water was just pouring in and there was nothing that we could do. Such a helpless feeling!!

The first pic is the back yard, keep in mind that 3 minutes before this there was nothing no standing water.

This is the basement window that broke out, it blew glass clear into the cold storage room across the basement and into the 2 bedrooms around the corner. This picture is just the top end of the basement the rest has carpet that will also have to be torn up and replaced.
